Description

SHIVANG FURNACES offers Roller Hearth Furnaces designed for continuous, efficient, and high-quality production across a wide range of industrial heat-treatment applications.

Continuous, Unlimited Work Flow

The roller hearth conveyor system consists of a series of externally driven rolls. There are no cumulative conveyor pressures or tensions as in belt, chain, or pusher furnaces. As a result, there are no production or cycle limitations, and the furnace length depends only on specific application needs. Individual operation of the roll sections permits continuous or interrupted workflow.

Fast, Top-Quality Production

The advanced construction design features of SHIVANG FURNACES roller hearth furnaces let you increase both the quality and rate of production. Individually driven roll sections allow fast run-in and run-out; heavy-duty insulation systems, welded gas-tight casings, and temperature-designed doors ensure fast, accurate, and uniform heating and cooling. This minimizes atmosphere mixing, heat loss, and work distortion or stress.

Ease of Installation

Furnace sections are completely assembled at the factory with insulation, heating systems, piping, wiring, and rolls. The skid-mounted sections can be quickly and easily moved into place, welded or bolted together, and placed in operation. Assembly by highly skilled factory staff using precise tools, jigs, and fixtures ensures superior workmanship and design integrity, eliminating many of the problems frequently encountered with field construction.

Approach to Extend Component Life

Because individual conveyor rolls are externally driven and remain in the same temperature zones, they are not subject to thermal cycling and can be designed for maximum operational life at working temperatures. In addition, cumulative pressures on conveyor rolls, work trays, and workloads are eliminated. Furnace doors are specially constructed and insulated to operate within their respective temperature zones, minimizing stress and warpage caused by temperature differences. Heating and cooling sections incorporate dependable, high-quality components for long-life operation. Factory assembly of the furnace section eliminates many of the common problems associated with field installation.

Flexible Operation

Individual roll sections can be started, stopped, reversed, or oscillated; they can operate at the same or different speeds. This enables a furnace cycle optimized for minimal space requirements. High-speed transfer between sections allows closely spaced workloads or work trays, while separation during transfer through doors ensures optimum hearth space utilization and minimal atmosphere mixing. All door openings can be adjusted to workload heights, permitting faster operation and maintaining controlled atmosphere integrity.

Lower Product Costs

A wide selection of furnace combinations and sizes allows customization to your specific production needs. You can reduce costs through increased product quality and faster production rates. Factory assembly reduces installation time and cost, allowing the furnace to enter production quickly. Additionally, the use of premium construction materials and proven designs minimizes maintenance and operating costs.

Cycle Annealing

Cycle annealing produces a tough, uniform structure in steel. Typical applications include:

Improving machinability of screw machine stock

Enhancing cold-working properties of deep-drawing stock

Increasing impact resistance and fatigue strength of gears and machine parts

In this process, the steel is heated slightly above the hardening temperature (approx. 925°C), then cooled rapidly to the transformation temperature (approx. 650°C), held until the transformation is complete, and finally cooled.

This SHIVANG FURNACES roller hearth furnace may be heated by gas-fired radiant tubes or electric ribbon resistors and is typically equipped with a controlled atmosphere to prevent scaling and surface decarburization.
Maximum furnace temperature: 950°C
